Buddha Nageshwara Raja also known as Nagaraja (king of the Nagas) is considered in the tradition of Lama Tsong Khapa as one of the 35 Buddhas of Confession. The recitation of his holy name together with prostrations purify 1000 kalpas of non virtuous karma. He is blue in colour with a white face and 7 nagas adorning his aura. He is also practiced to heal our relationship with the environment and the Naga spirits who can sometimes create infections and obstacles and in rituals to invoke rain. His practiced was brought and spread in Tibet by Palden Atisha.
